HISTORY OF OUR PAST CHURCH AFFILIATION
We were former members of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church. But in November 2006, we completely separated ourselves from the SDA Church, not because of sin in the church. Sin is found in every Church. It can be found in the church where we are if anyone of us lived in sin without Christ. Later, some others joined us.
The sole purpose of our leaving the SDA Church was purely because of false teachings advocated by the Church. These false teachings were not taught by Ellen G. White. Since these false teachings are detrimental to one's salvation, we had no other option but to leave after numerous discussions with the leaders of the SDA Church.
The more we discussed with the SDA Church leadership of the doctrines in question below, the more it revealed to us of the SDA Church's current beliefs. The doctrines that we found disturbing before we left the SDA Church are as follows:
A. THE SDA TEACHING ON SALVATION
1. Whereas the SDA Church believes that one is saved by faith alone.
WE believe that one is saved by faith that obeys.
2. Whereas the SDA Church believes that "Obedience is the fruit of salvation."
WE believe that "Obedience is the fruit of faith and love."
3. Whereas the SDA Church believes that faith is a condition to eternal life, but not "Obedience."
WE believe that "faith and obedience" are conditions to eternal life. Without obedience, faith is not faith. (Faith without works is dead).
4. Whereas the SDA Church believes that Obedience is a response to one's salvation.
WE believe that if one is saved by faith alone without the obedience: then, WHY should one need to obey later AFTER ONE IS BEING SAVED ALREADY?? ... And why should one be lost if one does not obey as a response to salvation?
WE believe that if one is saved by faith alone without obedience, the evil results are:-
(i) one is saved in sin.
(ii) sin is immortalized.
(iii) one has a license to sin.
(iv) the unrepentant sinner can go to heaven.
(v) it contradicts the other teachings of the Scriptures.
B.THE SDA TEACHING ON "SIN"
1. Whereas the SDA Church believes that since we inherited a fallen sinful nature from Adam and Eve, therefore, anyone that is born with a fallen sinful nature is born a sinner.
WE believe that we inherited a fallen sinful nature from Adam and Eve, but no one who is born with a fallen sinful nature is born a sinner. Sinful nature in itself is not sin.
2. Whereas the SDA Church believes that because we are born with a fallen sinful nature, hence, we are conditioned to sin.
WE believe that though we are born with a fallen sinful nature, nevertheless, we are not conditioned to sin. We have the power of choice to choose God's power to help us overcome all hereditary tendency inclinations to sin.
3. Whereas the SDA Church believes that our fallen sinful nature is the real cause for us to continue sinning.
WE believe that because we have the power of choice to choose Christ and overcome all temptations; hence, there is no reason for the SDA Church to keep believing in the fallen sinful nature to be the cause of sin.
4. Whereas the SDA Church believes that our fallen sinful nature in itself is sin.
WE believe that the fallen sinful nature in itself.is NOT sin. Sin is the transgression of the law - 1 John 3:4 No one is automatically a sinner by inheriting the fallen sinful nature.
5. Where as the SDA Church believes that "we cannot live without sin, but to live in sin until Jesus Christ returns since we are conditioned to sin from birth."
WE believe that we can live a life without sin by divine power from today.
WE believe that "we are not conditioned to sin because God made us with the power of choice. WE are not made to sin, we are made to overcome ALL TEMPTATIONS. WE can overcome ALL TEMPTATIONS by divine grace."
C. THE SDA TEACHING OF JESUS CHRIST'S HUMAN NATURE
1. Whereas the SDA Church believes that anyone born with a fallen sinful nature is born a sinner; therefore, Jesus Christ was born with a sinless nature. He would be a sinner if He was born with a fallen sinful nature.
WE believe that Jesus Christ was born with a fallen sinful nature like us. He was not a sinner at birth though He was born with a fallen sinful nature. WE believe that any baby born with a fallen sinful nature is not a sinner automatically because the fallen sinful nature in itself is not sin.
2. Whereas the SDA Church believes that Jesus Christ came with a sinless nature and He lived a life without sin. He is our example in His sinless life. But because He is different from us, we cannot live a life without sin. We will continue to sin.
WE believe that Jesus Christ came with a fallen sinful nature and He lived a sinless life by dependency upon His heavenly Father for power to overcome temptations. Thus, He is justified to say that He is our example in how to live without sin. Therefore, there is no excuse for us to keep saying that we cannot live without sin or not have a Christ-like life, because we have the power of choice to choose Christ who can help us live sinless.
WE wished that we did not have to leave the SDA Church after many years with the Church. But since the Church is teaching error NOW, we cannot stay and support to promote and increase the false teachings that will affect the salvation of anyone who believes in it.
We still have relatives and friends within the SDA Church. But our relationship with God comes first. We hope that many of them and you who are visiting our website will see the evil teachings within the SDA Church NOW and act responsibly.
John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Martin Luther, the Great Reformer says, “But light and darkness cannot harmonize. Between truth and error there is an irrepressible conflict. To uphold and defend the one is to attack and overthrow the other. Our Saviour Himself declared: "I came not to send peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34.
[Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, p.126.]
By defending the truth of "Sabbath keeping," Jesus Christ had to attack the false practice and teachings of the Pharisees and Saducees by healing the paralytic on the Sabbath day. And not only healing on the Sabbath day, but did the healing right at the temple courts to confront the issue and make it known to everyone as to what is the TRUTH.
It is not our intention to condemn the SDA Church members. WE want to ensure that our sincere Adventists become aware of the false teachings by the Church Organization itself. It is the teaching of the system that we are condemning.
"There was a present truth in the days of Luther,--a truth at that time of special importance; there is a present truth for the church today. ... But truth is no more desired by the majority today than it was by the papists who opposed Luther. ...The great controversy between truth and error, between Christ and Satan, is to increase in intensity to the close of this world's history." The Great Controversy, p.143-144.
Hope that we will not be misinterpreted by anyone. If you feel like condemning us, then you need to condemn Christ first for confronting the false teachings of the Organized Church at His time. Then condemn Martin Luther also for confronting the false teachings of the Church at his time.
May God bless you further in your search for truth -
